Invesments without values

A few weeks ago I thought about my life. I worked now for 10 years, earned good money but where is this money?
I bought things I thought I needed.
For exemple in 2017 I bought an Apple Watch (Series 3) to track my fitness results. How many steps a day, how many kcal did I burn a day, win trophies for achieving my results. Every day I did 10.000 steps, when I came home at evenings and I only reached 8.000 steps, I did some moves to gain the 10.000 afterall. Was it worth it? When I look at myself today, can I say that I am who I am because of the 10.000 steps? No.
Did I really needed a watch to track my fitness results? When I do or don't do workouts, I'll know it. Don't need a watch to tell me the obvious things.
After 2 years I put the watch away, it didn't feel right anymore. Few months later I came back to the watch for a short time. This repeated itself for the next years.
Now we have 2025, I can't even do the main update anymore, Apps won't work anymore, the watch is useless. I bought the watch in 2017 for 400€ and now it has no value anymore. What if I had invested into a watch with some silver elements, also for 400€ back then. The value of silver has risen over the last few years a lot. So now I would have a watch that still works and which value is even higher than before the invesment. Maybe only 420€ or 440€ but still more than only 0€.
In the end we invest daily in things without a value, it's like putting your money into the trash. How will you ever be able to be rich when your money doesn't stay where it belongs?
